Pause On Your 2015 Plans

There’s a quote making it’s way around social media that says, “If you haven’t started on 2015, you’re already behind.” Now, I’m not overly obsessed with planning but something about walking in my purpose has given me more motivation and drive than I’ve ver had. Consequently, I have a lot of ideas that I want to translate into reality for 2015, and not just regular ‘ole ideas, really great concepts that could really enhance the Curly Christians brand.  And so naturally, when you’re really excited about seeing something come to fruition, you become committed to doing everything in your power to make it happen.  As I’m reaching the point of planning out just how I’m going to give these ideas legs, Holy Spirit reminded me of one important piece of information that made me press pause on my 2015 plans.

Many are the plans in a persons heart, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail (Proverbs 19:21).

It’s so easy to get caught up in our personal desires.  Even if we feel like what we want will contribute to us walking in our purpose in Christ. It is critical to remember that we need to consult with Holy Spirit before making any decisions.  The more that we fall in line and submit to the will of God the easier it will be to stay on the path to prosperity.  This is not to say that we should discount our incredible ideas because it is the Lord that gives us creativity to accomplish His will. We just need to be sure to bring our plans to Christ to validate our direction.  He will guide and lead us in the way that we should go.

So, as we’re planning out all of the amazing things we want to accomplish in 2015 and how we’re going to accomplish them, let’s keep the ambition, drive and motivation, but let’s also remember to press pause and keep Christ in the center of our decision making through prayer and consulting the Word of God.  Holy Spirit will give us discernment on when to press play. We just have to trust Him.
