“Maybe it’s me.” That’s what I’ve been trying to figure out over the past several months. I don’t know; have you ever been at a place in your life where it seems like you’ve become foreign to some of the people closest to you? You’re trying new things, walking with purpose rather than aimlessly and you can just tell that they look at you differently. Like, “Who does she think she is?” I am definitely in that space, and for a hot second I started to really let it bother me until I reminded myself. “Tawanda, you’re salt.”
Here to add flavor to this world with my unique style as I challenge my spiritual growth and walk out my purpose in Christ, I am salt! The thing is, not everyone likes salt, or it could be that they feel like they don’t have it inside of them to be salt and so the more flavorful we become the more some of the people in our lives aren’t going to like it.
What we can’t do is allow the attitude of others towards our growth, or our willingness and desire to be different affect us. We have to stop concerning ourselves so much with what people think. If we know that we are rooted in Christ and that our change is a byproduct of our spiritual growth and walking in our purpose that’s what truly matters.
It is not Gods desire that we stay the same year after year! We should be growing. And when you grow in Christ, it is visible! So, if people see a change in me, I’m good. If they see a change in me that they don’t care for, I’m still good. Pleasing God is what matters most. And His word says that I am salt! So, I’ll be that
